Internet metadata lookup for Tv / Movies - request for feedback

We are soon to be releasing an update to iHomeServer that will perform metadata queries direct from online metadata services. The feature will allow one click setting of episode / movie titles, descriptions, cover art, etc, so should save people lots of time and avoid the need for other tools in the rip-to-watch workflow.

We currently have two services lined up - tagChimp and TheMovieDb.com. This post is really a request for feedback on whether iHomeServer users would like integration with any other Internet services?

Let me know! Either through a comment here, email ([email protected]) or tweet (@bizmodeller)

You REALLY need to support thetvdb.com and TheMovieDb.com.  These are the best services out there.  In my experience tagChimp is horrible by comparison.

Yep, tagChimp's fine for movies, but use thetvdb.com for TV shows, it's a million times better.

Ok thanks for the feedback - we have finished development and are testing integration with The Movie DB, TheTVDb.com and tagChimp.  We are still awaiting approval from TheTVDb.com to authorise our use so watch this space!  We'll release this on the pre-release page as soon as we can.....

Multilanguage support for tagging is also in as well Smile

Adding Metadata is great however for TV shows the episode number needs to be added to the track number so that shows sort properly on the ipad.

Thanks for the feedback - you are absolutely right; thought we were setting the track number, however, appears to be a bug.  Looking at it now....

Latest beta (2.2.9.0) should fix this; the track number wasn't getting saved correctly but is now.  We have also, in this release, removed setting the Episode ID (aka production code - NOT the episode number which is still set).  Seems the iPad (any maybe others) are sometimes using Episode ID in preference to episode number which also led to out of order tracks.

Let me know if this resolved it (you'll have to re-auto-tag the affected episode).
